The Relational Joy Workshop
A body-based workshop for anyone ready to understand themselves and their partner more deeply — and awaken more connected, compassionate, and joyful relationships.
Promote Embodied Relational Joy in Your Life
The relationships we most want to thrive in are often the hardest ones to navigate.
We love deeply. We want to connect. And yet we find ourselves in the same argument, the same shutdown, the same distance — wondering why we can't just get each other.
Here's what most relationship advice misses: the patterns driving those moments aren't in your mind. They're in your body. In the way you brace when conflict arises. In the way your partner withdraws when they feel overwhelmed. In the automatic, protective reactions that take over before either of you has said a word.
Relational Joy is a workshop that goes there — into the body, into the elemental nature of who you each are — and gives you a shared language, a grounded presence, and a whole new way of seeing and being seen by the people you love most.
What It IS
Not couples therapy. Something different.
Relational Joy is an experiential workshop — meaning you don't just hear ideas, you feel them. You move, you breathe, you practice. You discover things about yourself and your relationship that no conversation alone could have surfaced.
It's for couples who want to go deeper. For individuals who want to understand their own relational patterns. For anyone who senses that something more connected and joyful is available in their most important relationships — and is ready to reach for it.
You don't need to be in crisis to be here. You just need to be open.
What Participants Experience
A journey through four practices
Workshops vary and may include all of some of the practices
Practice 1: Arrive — Laughter Yoga & Body Connection
We begin together, in our bodies. A short laughter yoga warm-up dissolves the social armor we carry in — the self-consciousness, the guardedness, the performance of having it together. From there, a guided body connection practice helps each person arrive fully present — grounded, open, and genuinely here.
Because real connection with another person starts with real connection to yourself.
Practice 2: Know Yourself — Embodied Self-Awareness
Before we can truly meet our partner, we need to meet ourselves. This section introduces the embodied patterns that shape how we show up in relationship — Overdoing, Looping, Overgiving, Armoring, Conflicting, Avoiding — and guides participants through a somatic exploration of their own relational wiring.
You'll learn to recognize your body's signals during conflict and tension — and discover simple, powerful grounding tools to return to yourself when things get hard.
Practice 3: Know Each Other — The Four Elements Model
This is the heart of the workshop. Each person discovers their elemental nature — Earth, Water, Fire, or Air — and what it means for how they think, feel, communicate, and love.
Earth brings stability and loyalty — and may struggle to express needs spontaneously.
Water brings depth and empathy — and may absorb others' emotions at the cost of their own.
Fire brings passion and directness — and may overwhelm or move faster than others can follow.
Air brings ideas and connection — and may intellectualize rather than fully feeling.
Understanding how to shift between elemental embodiments — understand yours and your partner's default energies — so you can awaken to your own nature and theirs, and transforms frustration into compassion.
What used to feel like "why won't they just..." becomes "oh — I see now."
Participants explore their elemental combination as a couple or within their closest relationships — discovering where they naturally harmonize and where they need more conscious care.
Practice 4: Connect — Embodied Relational Practice
The final movement brings everything together. Using partner exercises, guided poses, and embodied practices, participants practice expressing themselves and receiving their partner — not just with words, but with presence. With the body. With genuine loving intention.
This is where the shift becomes felt, not just understood.

Your Faciliator
Joanna Pustilnik is an embodiment coach, somatic and intuitive nutrition therapist, and certified laughter yoga instructor with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals.
Her relational joy workshops draw on somatic intelligence, the Four Elements model, IFS-informed parts work, positive psychology, intuitive self-care, and nervous system regulation — delivered with the kind of warmth, humor, and grounded presence that makes even skeptics lean in.
She has worked with individuals, groups, and organizations navigating stress, disconnection, burnout, and relational breakdown — and has seen, consistently, that the path back to genuine connection always runs through the body.
She herself is in a thriving 16-year relationship with her husband, Dr. P. They are opposites and needed a lot of embodied work to get to where they are. Beautiful relationships aren't always easy, but they are always worth it.
