How does a Women's Circle support embodied joy?
A women's circle is simply a gathering of women to connect over a specific topic. I lead the circle using a body-led framework on a precise topic (usually something that blocks our joy or activates it!). I introduce embodied practices to help with connecting to the body and intuition, and as a group, we use active listening and love to help one another feel seen and heard.
It supports embodied joy by encouraging a leaning toward what needs to be accepted, felt, worked through, or realized. I also teach grounding techniques or embodied practices that facilitate the development of embodied intelligence- self-awareness, self-leadership, and relational embodied dynamics (social awareness and influence).
Interested in hosting a women's circle?
I live in the DMV area of Washington DC. I can provide in-person women's circles within this area, and I also can host online women's circles by request. If you have a group of women interested in participating, please reach out to me for details about cost and time or to learn more about setting it up. Groups of 3 to 8 women are ideal, and the group usually runs for 90 minutes on average but can be shorter or longer depending on group size.
Reclaim Joy:
A Women's Circle Experience
As women, we live in a patriarchal, capitalistic dynamic that asks us to shoulder more than the fair share of inherited burdens, responsibilities, and shame- and to hurry hurry hurry in perfect form while shouldering it!
Because of this, too many feel of us feel unseen and unknown, lost in the rushing.
We're under-receptive to receiving and overextended in giving.
The expectations can make us feel numb and disembodied. We critique our desire to meet our own needs.
Many times, I've felt the universe has simply asked too much of me. Do you ever feel like that?
Research supports that empathy is a shame-killer. Compassion shuts judgement down. Love enlivens us. And embodiment can activate our SELF energy- the part of us that is love, light, and innate joy.
After my own embodiment journey, a soul-deep desire whispered within me. A yearning to connect women toward one shared intention- I want us to feel seen, held, and awaken to our embodied joy.
Joy is not a fleeting experience that results from external circumstances. Joy is not simply forcing a smile or a "positive mindset". Joy is the experience of connection to ourselves, our nature, our bodies, the receptivity to pleasure, the welcoming and acceptance of all that is, the returning to our confidence and resilience, and the embodied intelligence of awareness and self-leadership.
